A tour for experienced mountain experts.
From the Fulseck mountain station, walk north along the ridge to the Arltörl. From there you continue northwards on the path to the Wetterkreuz. When you reach the junction to the Schuhflicker, continue in a northerly direction. From now on, you have to stay extremely focused. You will reach an wind gap via serpentines. From there, a rope-secured path leads directly to the summit. Caution is advised - especially in wet conditions.
After this challenge, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view - which only those who have reached the summit are allowed to enjoy. A real Gasteiner moment.
On your way back you pass the Schuhflickersee lake. At the junction, keep going in the direction of the Gasteiner Höhe. After an hour's hike, the path leads to the Steiner Hochalm and on to Dorfgastein.
You can take some refreshment at the Gipfelstadl Fulseck or at the Steiner Hochalm.
